160 FLAT BLACK WHITE

OSLO – In Grünerløkka HALLSTEIN refreshed a flat in a traditional housing building from 1893. Instead of stripping down generations of wall claddings, mouldings and floors, we painted everything – everything – in a soft natural rice tone to tie the space together. The white surfaces are offset with very dark – ristretto coloured – niches for storage. The niche appears almost unlimited as the walls, ceiling and floor read like one continuous space.
